Breaking News - our venue has changed!
The 11th Annual JTVA Vocal Competition Weekend this month (June 22-23) will now be held at the Valley Center for the Performing Arts on the former campus of Holy Names University in Oakland.
The first six JTVA Vocal Competitions, from 2014-2019, were held in the Valley Center for the Performing Arts at Holy Names University. As HNU ceased operation during the pandemic, JTVA temporarily relocated to San Francisco’s Wilsey Center for 2022 and 2023. Determined to return to our East Bay roots, JTVA originally scheduled the 2024 event at Cal State East Bay. However, the Valley Center has reopened under new ownership and they reached out with an inviting, if last minute, offer to return this year.
On the familiar stage and with many of the same people working behind the scenes, JTVA’s return to the Valley Center will feel like a welcome homecoming. And with 10 exciting finalists and two fabulous master class teachers, it’s sure to be a weekend of vocal brilliance. Will you be there? Take note of the new venue and get your tickets now.
